Top 5 Guest Appearances on Friends
Friends was one of the most popular and unexpectedly successful shows on network television, running for a full ten seasons from 1994 to 2004. We watched these six friends Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Phoebe and Joey go through Christmases, Thanksgivings, children, good relationships,
bad relationships, funny relationships, and heart-rending break-ups. Of course, they didn't experience all these things by themselves, they had plenty of guest stars to liven things up. Here's a quick look at some of the best guest appearances.
1) Brad Pitt or The One with the Rumor
At the time of his appearance on Friends he was actually married to Jennifer Aniston so the premise of this episode was wonderfully ironic and made for some fantastically funny moments. In this episode, Brad Pitt plays Will Colbert, who like Monica is a once-upon-a-time fat kid. Of course... now he looks like Brad Pitt... so different that Rachel doesn't remember being mean and cruel to him in high school. An epic hate fest ensues as Rachel learns of the "I-hate-Rachel" club had two member, Ross and Will, and this club started the unfavorable rumor that Rachel had male and female sex organs. A very fun episode.
2) Bruce Willis, several episodes
We can thank Bruce Willis' appearance on Friends to a bet he lost to Matthew Perry. Bruce Willis plays the dad of Ross' girlfriend who eventually also ends up being Rachel's boyfriend. Bruce plays his typical enduringly stoic character who Rachel tries to get to open up. The problem is... when the floodgates finally open up... all hell breaks loose... and it doesn't stop... and nobody wants to date a crybaby.
3) Julia Roberts or The One After the Superbowl: Part 2
This episode truly demonstrates revenge at it's sweetest. Chandler runs across an old middle-school friend named Susie Moss who due to him gained the unfortunate nickname of "Susie-underpants." Susie feigns interest in Chandler only to leave him naked in a public restroom wearing.... her underwear. How incredibly awesome is that?
4) George Clooney/ Noah Wyle or The One with Two Parts: Part 2
