The art of sending correspondence is said to be getting a new revival. In the days of email and text message, nothing could come at a more welcome time. These brown and lavender monogram note cards are perfect for sending to just about anyone, for no reason at all.

For this project, you will need:

- A sheet of dark brown cardstock

- Pages Press "Tatted Posie" Print Scrapbook Paper (found in stores and online at Paper Addict)

- Lavender colored vellum paper

- Fancy script mounted rubber stamp alphabet

- Gold permanent ink pad

- 1/4 inch purple satin ribbon

- Elmer's glue stick

- Scissors

- Pencil

- Ruler

Start your project by folding the sheet of dark brown cardstock into a greeting card shape. (If you want a smaller card, trim the paper down to a desired size with scissors. This step can also be omitted by purchasing a pre-made cardstock greeting card base, found at most craft and paper supply stores.)

Measure the full front of the paper. Subtract 1/4 inch from around the entire rectangle. Measure and mark this size with a pencil directly onto the Pages Press "Tatted Posie" Print Scrapbook Paper. Cut the paper rectangle out.

Adhere the print paper to the cardstock greeting card with an Elmer's glue stick. Be sure to leave 1/4" border of bare brown around the edge of the card. Let the glue dry completely.

Measure and mark with a pencil a rectangle of lavender colored vellum that is one half the size in height as your brown print paper was. Cut this shape out. Apply a small bit of glue at the top of the piece of lavender vellum and adhere it to the center of the card. (Half of the "Tatted Posie" paper should be covered by the light purple, but the bottom half of the light purple paper should still "flap" up and be unsecured.) Allow the glue to dry.

Cut a piece of ¼ inch purple satin ribbon that will wrap around the front of the card and tuck in 1/4" into the inside on both ends. Adhere the ribbon to the card with a glue stick, wrapping the ends so that the additional 1/4 inch tucks under the cover of the card.
