There really is no comparison for trying to pack for a year teaching in Korea. It's something like going away to college, but you need to have a professional wardrobe and it's much harder to call mom to mail something you forgot. You also face the challenge of being in a place that has four seasons meaning you will need everything from winter wear to shorts, in a professional wardrobe. The good news is that the Korean national past time is shopping so you can depend on getting many of the things you need in country, wearing them out and discarding them before you return home. The bad news is, that space you saved in your 2 checked bags and 2 carry ons will need to be used for things that are just not available, but will make your life more comfortable. So far from home, comfort is extremely important.
