New York-New York Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Theme of This Hotel Is, Unsurprisingly, New York City and Although the Hotel Isn't the Greatest, the Entertainment it Provides is Rather High in Value

New York-New York is a relatively new hotel-casino built on the famous Las Vegas Strip, as it opened on 9 years ago in 1997. The hotel unsurprisingly uses its New York City theme to its fullest, as the unique architecture of

the hotel is made up to look like New York's popular skyline. With buildings designed to look like popular New York landmarks such as the Chrysler and Empire State Buildings, the theme is used frequently, cleverly, and also rather tastefully.

Unfortunately for those thinking about staying at New York-New York, I regret to inform you that the hotel's rooms are rather small unless you are willing to pay even more. The mere fact that you'll be staying in a room that appears to be in the Empire State Building should not make up for the fact that the room is small. Another bummer that only pertains to some of the rooms is the rollercoaster outside. Some of the rooms that are closer to the ride are rather noisy and may even rumble.

Essentially the service of the hotel varies depending on how much money you're willing to spend. If you decide to buy one of the suites, you might be able to get some decent room service, although don't expect to be paying anything less than a ton for the food and drinks that they offer. New York-New York's pool is also rather disappointing, as it doesn't live up to the better and larger pools found at other hotels like Caesars Palace and Mandalay Bay.

Although I've listed some negatives about the hotel's rooms and service, good things are said about New York-New York when it comes to its food and entertainment. Although the food can be rather expensive at the hotel, practically all of the food is worth trying out due to its quality dishes. Chin Chin is a Chinese American restaurant which offers a breakfast buffet while Gallagher's Steak House provides some excellent yet pricey steak. Gonzalez y Gonzales is one of the best Mexican eateries in all of Las Vegas and Il Fornaio provides some delicious Italian food. If you're looking for cheaper yet still tasty food, you might want to try out some of New York-New York's fast food restaurants such as Nathan's for hot dogs and Sirico's for pizza.
