Airports are the second homes of many business people and frequent travelers today. But, for the first time flyer, these large hubs of excitement can be a bit overwhelming. Starting conversations with those waiting around you can help pass the time and ease the stress.

The hardest part of starting a conversation is breaking the ice. Choosing one of these ten ice breaking questions may help.

Before Boarding:

1) Do you want to play tic tac toe?

2) Join me for a picnic?

3) You want a soda? It's on me!

4) What do you think about (Presidential topic)?

5) So who's gonna get your vote?

After Boarding:

6) Could they make these seat any smaller?

7) You want a soda? It's on me! (When the flight attendant offers a drink).

8) Hey, wanna catch a movie sometime?

9) What don't you like about flying?

10) Ever take a train?

Breaking the ice does not have to be hard, just a little funny and the rest will follow. Take a deep breath and exhale laughter! Conversations on airplanes and in airports are the perfect way to pass the time during layovers and long flights. Some people believe starting a conversation is a bother to the person you do not know. Just make sure to never start a conversation with someone that looks clearly busy, or someone who is sleepy. Everyone else is fair game!

Takeaways
  • Airport conversations help pass time in dull situations.

Lol! I'm either 'clearly busy' or 'sleepy'! But should I find myself in a gregarious state, I shall definitely peruse your cool suggestions!
