How To Write A Love Letter It can be hard to express how you feel toward someone you care deeply about. For many decades, letter writing has been an acceptable way to go, even now with e-mail a great many people still choose to express their deepest emotions through letters. There are a couple of important key ingredients when it comes to writing an effective love letter. The letter should have a clear idea, theme, and a goal. What one means by “goal” is that love letter writers should know what kind of response they are seeking from their beloved. For example, you want your girlfriend or boyfriend to forgive you, then the goal of the letter would be to get them to do so.
Here are a few suggestions to consider when writing a love letter:
A love letter should a page, no more then a page and a half. The love letter writer should think of themselves as a lawyer, and the letter as a five-minute argument that they have to deliver to a jury. The jury is one’s girlfriend or boyfriend.
The opening and the first sentence of your love letter should state intent. For example, if you are writing a love letter to tell your beloved that you miss them then write, “I miss you.”
When most people think of a love letter they assume it has to have flowery prose. That is not true, a simple and direct approach is most effective. Flowery, overly sentimental and romantic writing could have one’s girlfriend and boyfriend rolling their eyes in disbelief. So, be clear and concise. Remember they know, at least one hopes so, how you think and talk. One’s love letter should reflect one’s personality or it will not get the response you are hoping for.
Don’t be frightened of cliches. Truthfully, there are only so many ways to tell a person you love them. Everyone wants to be told they are loved, missed and needed. There is no need to reinvent the wheel.
Be honest. Don’t admit to anything that you don’t feel, the person whom you are in an intimate relationship with can probably tell when you are lying. Even if you are a good liar it could come back to bite you later.
