In an attempt to raise money for legal defense for Djinn Buckingham, his family and supporters are selling artwork by Djinn and his sister. The artwork can be viewed on his website, or on his myspace. One of the drawings is that of Sierra, Djinn's cousin who died in the tragic fire. At the age of twelve, Djinn Buckingham was arrested and convicted for the house fire, and death of his cousin Sierra. He was charged with criminal homicide, one count of arson, six counts of irritated assault and six counts of reckless endangerment. His family and supporters say he did not do it.
According to Rainbow Buckingham, Djinn's mother, Djinn was questioned by state police while she was at the funeral of Sierra. She alleges that Djinn's rights were violated since he had no attorney present, and there is no record, either orally or orally of the confession, and no way of knowing if the confession was forced, or even the truth. Rainbow has created websites with more information and details of the case. You can access the sites here and here.
Djinn's supporter Reverend Stephen has created a Myspace in support of Djinn. He has stated in several bulletins on Myspace about the abuses Djinn has endured while incarcerated which include being injured while in restraints and being molested by another inmate while staff did nothing to stop it. Stephen said" the state of Pennsylvania, the juvenile corrections department, and Children and Youth services are trying to destroy Djinn and the entire family unit, it's not right and I'm fighting to save him and the family". The family has also created a petition with concerns about Djinn's case and can be read here.
