How to Write a College Research Paper in 48 Hours

If you are the kind of college student that procrastinates, waiting to the last minute to start the “all important” paper, this article might be for you. First, have an original topic, good research, and making sure your research paper is as free of grammatical errors as much
as possible. However, if you are troubled in the latter area there are ways to get around it, which will be discussed later.

Hopefully, you have a topic picked out and have a little bit of research done. If not, take an hour to pick out a topic, making sure you have some measure of interest in it, and that there is plenty of research on the subject. Don’t take a lot of time to do this because you don’t have it.

Research
You have chosen your topic, now it is time to settle down to do some research. Honestly, the bulk of your 48 hours will be spent researching your paper. You can’t write a paper if you don’t know what you are writing about. Be prepared to spend about 10-25 hours in library, therefore eat a good hearty breakfast it will help keep you focused. Also, bring healthy snacks to keep your energy up. Another thing, no distractions, so go to the library alone and early, as soon as it opens. If you work take the day off.

To do effective research, one must prioritize and focus. It is important that you stick strictly to the topic of your paper. If you come across anything that is slightly off your topic, discard and immediately move on. If you come across something that could help, read a few lines of the first paragraph, middle and end of the article, or book. If it is information you can use print it.

However, before printing it make sure your sources is only a few pages, no more than the length of your paper. Remember you don’t have that much time, and you will have to review your sources before you start writing the paper, so nothing too long, it will only make you feel overwhelmed.
