Last year, my mother and I took a trip out to Nashville, TN. I had always heard about what a great city it is and being a singer/songwriter/musician myself only sparked my interest more. Our first night in Nashville, we wanted to go out and have a great dinner. Per the suggestion of the front desk agent at our hotel, we decided to try Demo's Steak and Spaghetti House down on Commerce Street. Demo's is the type of restaurant that draws you in before you even get through the door. The bright red and green awnings outside give it a real "taste of Italy" feel. You know it will be good! Inside, the dimly lit space radiates with wamth and friendliness. It's the perfect setting for a romantic date, a quiet night out or a casual dinner with your mother!

After entering the restaurant, my mother and I, after being greeted with a smile by the hostess, sat down and within five minutes, we were greeted by our smiling, welcoming waiter. When we told him that we were from out of town, he was so happy to tell us what tourist attractions were must-sees and gave us the low down on Music Row and all of the great Music City clubs. Not only does Demo's have friendly waiters, it has informative waiters as well! Looking over the menu, which consists of anything from steak to salad to seafood, my mother ordered the mozarella chicken if I remember correctly, which is a dish similar to chicken parmesean but with a bit of ham mixed in. I ordered the spaghetti alfredo. The Italian in me can never resist the sweet taste of alfredo! The food came in a matter of minutes. It seemed as though we had just sat down! I can't speak for my mother (though as you read on, you'll see I don't need to) but my alfredo was probably the best I've ever had. Rich, creamy and the perfect portion size! I was satisfied but not stuffed. I probably could have (and should have) ordered dessert but we were too excited to paint the town red and get on with our night.

Takeaways
  • Music City is More Than Great Music; It is Great Food Too!
  • Demo's: the BEST restaurant I've ever eaten at
