Do you have in-laws that annoy you? I am pretty sure I can top any story you may have! Of course, there are way too many stories for one article. So, I will start with one of the oldest stories.

In 2000 our family moved to Colorado. We bought our first home in July. That Christmas, my in-laws decided they were going to come visit us and stay for 3 weeks. Yes, they told us this - they did not ask. Upon their arrival, they made this their home. It was almost as if since their son grew up in their home, that his home was now theirs. At the time, I was 10 months pregnant with my second child - not in the mood to be entertaining people. And my mother-in-law requires constant entertainment. She is NOT capable of doing anything on her own.

We had Christmas dinner here - which my husband and I cooked while my mother-in-law stood in the kitching blabbing at us and my father-in-law stood in front of the blaring tv drinking his beer. During dinner my mother-in-law complained about the fact that we were eating at our house and not with her sister - at her sisters house. You see, when I was a child, I was dragged from house to house on the holidays to visit all the relatives. I had made the rule, that I would not do that to my children, and if people wanted to spend the holidays with us, they were welcome in our home.

After Christmas, my mother-in-law was still complaining about Christmas without her sister (who lives about an hour away), and she came up with this great idea! She informs us that she has invited her sister and their family (a total of 5 people) as well as her sisters extended family (another 5-10 people) and also my father-in-laws 2 sisters and their extended family (another 15-20 people) to come to our house for a "party". Excuse me?!?! Without asking us, she invited 30+ people into our home for a party while I was 10 months pregnant and expects me to entertain all of them? Thankfully, only about 10 people showed up. When it was getting close to dinner time and I had not moved into the kitchen (I can be very stubborn when I get mad), she finally decided to order pizzas. I later heard her complaining that I didn't make dinner for everyone and that I wasn't a very good host.
