Pondering the meaning of a midlife crisis can be daunting and we all go thought that when we are any where from thirty five to forty five. What exactly are we pondering when we do that, I mean really when you stop and think about it everyone goes through this but not so many people choose to act upon it. A midlife crisis is defined as someone in the middle of his or her life decides to change him or herself from the very core and makes radical changes. How many middle aged men have you seen driving a sports car with the music blaring or have you seen a middle-aged woman in spandex or a mini skirt lately?
It is because they want to feel young and free of their responsibilities if just for a while, that is fine, for most people but sometimes it gets out of hand and is a full blown mid life crisis.
When the middle-aged person who has been married for twenty something years, and feels the need for a change sometimes they will seek out affairs even if everything is fine at home. They are simply bored in the marriage or life in general and want to feel young again, however that does not make it right for them to seek an affair.
I am between those mid-life crisis years and I too made fundamental changes, I choose to modify my thinking from the foundation of my being. I was married at twenty and had three children within five years, and was a stay at home mom until they were all in school then I went back to college. Being the mom was never the problem I loved that, but when my ex husband who is 4 years older hit those mid life crisis years he made changes that as a faithful wife I could not handle.
We all assumed he was having what is known as a mid life crisis and was going to bars a lot, then he began relationships with women from those bars, not being a bar person as he was, I did not see it and no one was talking about it. It also could have been an ugly thing called a mental breakdown as he is bipolar as well, but he made some bad choices that put my life in danger. I could deal with the bipolar but when it came down to the other women mid life crisis or not, I would not settle for that, and I kicked him out and began a new life.
