Raw Revolutionary (RR) Organic Live Food Bars, Raspberry and Chocolate: Review

The Raspberry and Chocolate are two of my favorite flavors and when I saw them blend together in the Raw Revolutionary (RR) Organic Live Food Bars, I simply could not resist myself from trying them. Now as you go through the name there are 3 things that run in your mind instantly. Firstly they should be raw and yes they are completely raw and natural. They are not processed or cooked and hence they are termed raw bars. Since they are not processed, it does not taste like the other conventional raspberry or chocolate bars. But I chose to have a raw bar and since this is a health bar, I don't have any regrets on that.

Secondly, they are Organic. But please make a note of the fact that they are not completely organic and the makers claim that it contains at least 95% organic ingredients. So the only respite is that the amount of harmful and toxic chemicals, pesticides, fertilizers and heavy metals are minimal making it almost safe for consumption.

Thirdly, do they really taste like Raspberry and Chocolate? I expected it to have bigger chewy pieces of Raspberry so that it gives me a satisfaction of having some quick fix bite. But sadly I could not find any pieces of berries. It seems that they are adding Raspberry powders to the bar for improving the texture and the lack of berry chunks was little disappointing to me. Then coming to the Chocolate, Cocoa is added to it and these are a extremely good source of antioxidants.

When I go for Raspberry and Chocolate Bars, I expect it to be a sweet and sour and not just sour. I guess they have added more of berries and the tart taste and flavor of the Raspberries dominate the sweet chocolate. Moreover since no additional refined sugar or artificial sweeteners are added to it, they are relatively low on sweet. It will do no good to satisfy your craving for having something sweet. The Agave Nectar adds a special flavor to it and this also blends well with the ingredients to make the bar moist and chewy.
