Halloween Costume Ideas: Creative Ways to Spice Up the Night!
Break Out of the Coffins and into the Creative Flying Pan
If you’ve been to your local superstore, you’ve probably noticed that the Halloween costumes are already rollin’ out of the stock rooms. They’ve probably got all your Turkey day preparations right behind them. And it’s only September! Although it may seem a tad too early to buy the pre-manufactured costumes, it’s never too early to get started if you are going to do something a little more on unique side for your dentist’s favorite night. I’ve done a little research to give you a jumpstart on the crowd so that, if you are a man, you won’t have to dress up yet again as a woman. You’ll see that most of the costumes can be made from items you get at thrift stores and the craft section of most any superstore. Let’s get those creative juices flowin’!Males
One easy idea is to dress as a Chick Magnet. Glue some old Barbie dolls (pick them up dirt cheap at a thrift store) onto some old grey clothes. Glue a few strips of aluminum foil around your chest. You can even throw a few paper clips and other small, magnetic items in between the Barbies. Don’t forget the shades and really bad cologne!
Wanna try and get some extra candy? Try becoming a Candy Protester! Get yourself some hippie-like clothes (tie dye, shaggy wig, Patchouli and Birkenstocks) and draw up a picket sign that says “Candy Is Bad For You”. The key to the costume is tying a basket around your waste with a sign on it that says “get rid of it here”. Free the Raisenettes, man!
How about becoming the King of Pop? No, not THAT one. This guy is truly royal…if you worship aluminum. Make yourself a scepter and glue an A&W can on the end since it is gold. Get yourself a purple or red cape (easily found in someone’s linen closet). Then collect all the different pop cans you can find. The more variety, the better! Fashion yourself a crown out of one brand, and then glue a few of the others to your clothes. If you want to step it up a notch, print out some of the soda logos, cut them out, and glue them to your cape.
