On Tuesday, February 5th, 2008, my husband, daughter and I were huddled in a small hall closet as sirens wailed outside. We had been watching the weather for hours, and we knew that something major was coming our way, but we had no idea how horrible it would be. Thankfully, our family was not harmed in the tornadoes that ripped through the South, including our town of Jackson, Tennessee, but as we sat in silence and darkness for 10 hours, awaiting the return of power and electricity to our home, we didn't know how much damage the storm had left behind, only 1.5 miles from our home.
