If you are looking for a way to lose weight with fantastic results, consider Phentermine. Known as a stimulate that resembles amphetamine, it works as an appetite suppressor. Being an amphetamine makes this drug to be known as habit forming. How this appetite suppressant works is by the brain's connected neurotransmitters tend to become confused. The goal of appetite suppression is achieved because hunger signals go unreceived.

However, while this drug works to supress an appetite, the correct diet and exercise should also be used, in order to maintain acceptable results. A simple weight consultation with your Doctor can determine whether Phentermine is right for you or not.

What Is So Great About Phentermine?

Although Phentermine may not be the right weight loss medication for you, I have seen great results. I am 5 foot 11 inches and when I started taking Phentermine I weighed 175 pounds, now I am almost at my goal weight, I weigh 147 pounds. My Doctor set my goal weight at 140 pounds, and after 3 months of taking Phentermine, I have almost reached it. I took the weight loss pill once a day as soon as I woke up. I was advised not to eat until an hour after taking the pill. Most prescriptions of Phentermine require you to not eat up until at least an hour after taking the medication.

When I first began taking this drug, halfway through the day I had to remind myself to eat. So be cautious when taking this, not eating can be very harmful. Food is needed in order to create energy for your body to burn. No food means no energy.

Does Serious Side Effects Occur?

For some people yes. Here is a few side effects that can occur; rapid heart rate, swelling, dizziness, light headedness, increased blood pressure, and even chest pain. I for one have not experience any of these severe side effects.

However I have experienced some mild side effects such as; dry mouth (in which is caused to leave a nasty taste, but also makes me drink more water), increased energy drive, and forgetting to eat. These mild side effects are very common with people taking this medication, almost everyone I know that takes Phentermine experiences these side effects also.

That's true, however alot of Doctors still prescribe medication to patients even if they are not FDA approved. I know someone who is taking Zyprexa and this medication is known to have very serious side effects, however, my friends' doctor still prescribes this medication to her. As far as Phentermine not being FDA approved, I don't know and I don't care, but I do know that my script was just filled.

ALOT of weight loss medications are not approved by the FDA. A medical DOCTOR would not prescribe something if he thought it might be harmful to you!
