Top Ten Toys for Toddler Girls

Find the Right Gift for a Toddler Girl from This Top 10 Toys List

I have a little two-year-old girlie-girl daughter, so I am fairly familiar with the toys that make her happy to be playing in her room or the tub. Not all of her favorite toys are especially girlie, some are gender neutral, but they're all still part of our top 10.

Listed here are our top 10 toys that we'd recommend to other toddler girls!

Melody the Mini Van (Little People)
Most toddler girls (and boys) love Fisher-Price's Little People, and parents encourage their toddlers to like them because they are a good, safe-sized toy for toddlers to play with. This particular Little People toy set, Melody the Mini Van, is great for toddler girls because it comes with a Mommy, Baby, portable stroller, and a talking/singing mini van. The mini van's trunk opens and closes to access the portable stroller, and the Mommy, Baby, and any friends along for the trip can get in and out of the van through the holes in the van's open top.

My First Doll House
Fisher-Price's My First Doll House is the perfect gift for any two-year-old girl. The doll house itself is a 3-story home with a front door that opens and closes, and a telephone and door bell that actually ring (with the use of 2 "AA" batteries). It has a built-in computer and desk (for the Mommy or Daddy to work from home, of course!) and bathroom sink and tub. Along with the doll house come a dining table and two chairs, a bathroom potty, and a family of one mommy, daddy, and baby. (More doll house furniture & accessories available for purchase at www.fisher-price.com and retail stores.)

Little Mommy Doll
Wondering which toy doll to get your one- or two-year-old toddler girl? Fisher-Price's Little Mommy Doll makes a great first baby doll for little girls. Each Little Mommy doll has a cute face and a soft middle (with a harder face, hands and legs), and comes wearing comfy pajamas, a bow headband, and with a rattle and bottle.

Related information
  • For a 'girlie-girl' choose a tea set, baby doll, or doll house.
  • For a girl not into dolls, get her something more neutral, like an Aquadoodle or Mr. Potato Head.
  • Bathtub toys make great gifts, as well!

My toddler daughter loves Quercetti Saxoflute (you design you own flute) and Quercetti Tubation they are a building toy made in Italy. She also likes Molly P. baby Jessica a bit expensive but very life like and Baby So Real also makes babies so real looking they actually have little veins in their hands and feet. Here are few more favorites Tomy's matching eggs, Fisher Price's Oreo Matching Middles, Hasbro's Goldilocks and the Three Bears Weeble Wobble Cottage, and any or all of the 123 Playmobil sets, these I had to buy directly from playmobilusa.com.

Cat, the reason little girls like to play mommy is b/c that is what they see. They see their mommies taking care of them, driving them around, etc. That is how my daughter plays. I am pretty sure that if i got her a briefcase with a legal pad, she would not know how to play lawyer....(which, by the way, is what her mommy really is!)

we wouldn't want to teach our daughters that it is okay to grow up and want to stay home and take care of their family and babies!!! how horrible a thought is that! give me a break, cat!!!

Hey Cat, How about using some punctuation. Maybe play teacher...

Wow someone's a little bitter. Honestly, there is nothing wrong with playing with dolls and a minivan. That's just my opinion. Litlle girls just want to be little mommies. The best thing to do is give them options and let them chose. My little one is happier with a cardboard box and the cat than anything else most of the time...lol

great lets just put the idea into a little girls head that she should play with dolls and a minivan and get ready to be a servant GREAT how about toys that can open her mind and let her explore who she might want to become like a vet kit or my first lawyers office

Robin, do your girls have an Aquadoodle? I was so excited about that product but after using it a while I don't think it's very functional.

Great article. You're right, the aquadoodle is perfect for travel!

Another great article. I remember some of these toys from when I was really little.
