To realise that it has been 20 years since SLIPPERY WHEN WET album was released makes me look back for two decades of being a fan and thankfully Bon Jovi has not gone too artistic or fancy or out of whack!

Jon Bon Jovi still comes across as an honest rock singer and boy, does he deliver some great vocals here! I am not at all surprised that this album is sitting #1 at the Billboard 200 as I'm writing this there is so many good things going for it. He crosses over to the country world with his own spin on the title track LOST HIGHWAY and has Big & Rich doing the party song and yes, those guys know how to get the party going!

Some might say that LeAnn Rimes singing a love duet with him is tad too syrupy but to have LeAnn who without a doubt has one of the strongest voices in country today sing with him is a rare treat to a country girl who grew up listening Bon Jovi (like me!)

Summertime is the only song in this album that makes me hit the forward button and these guys hit home big time with Richie Sambora playing his guitar as well as ever and Jon Bon Jovi sounding even sexier than before if it is even possible!

Here are the songs and my feelings about each of them:

Lost Highway 4:13

Pleasant slowish rock song. Bon Jovi puts a little Hey Hey action and I do like the way he is playing with his voice, using the throat sound. Good start, I coul be on my way to summer party and popping this on the car cd player! Come On, Let's Go! Little long overall though, could be shorter. I called it a rock song but actually this is Hank Williams original! Who knew!!!

Summertime 3:17

How many songs are out the named Summertime? Starts with the drums. Fingertapping tune. Frankly I find the whole song very boring and such a copycat style that it is not sinking in for me! FF

(You Want To) Make A Memory 4:36

Jon is working his sexy side. I was not such a fan when I first heard this but it grows on you. Too much bass but I love the piano and the way the whole tune grows. Brilliant vocal! This is a huge hit and it should be! Again drags at the end a little.

Whole Lot Of Leavin' 4:16

Again loud and drums are working the beat. Fall song, great lyrics. There is some mean guitar solo included, solid Jon Bon Jovi, just works!
