From Houston to San Francisco, sex slavery is an underground operation that makes the masterminds behind it millions, while making the girls who perform the sex acts nothing.

The girls who are trafficked into the U.S. for sex are mostly foreigners: young college girls lured into being illegally smuggled into the country with promises of waitressing, modeling, or performing jobs. These operations have guys going around the world whose job it is to find girls willing to be smuggled into the U.S. with these false promises. They are told that they will be brought into the U.S. to get this wonderful, high-paying job and an opportunity at having a better life, but it will cost them. The traffickers tell them that they will work off a fee for their transport, but that this will be easily accomplished once they start their new job.

Once they make it into the U.S., however, the traffickers' stories change. The girls are told that their fee is an incredibly large amount and that their new job will never pay for it. When the girls ask what they can do to pay the fee, they are told they can work at "massage" parlors or strip clubs. They are threatened that if they don't pay their fee, they could be physically harmed or killed, so the girls take on these new "jobs", fearing for their lives.

They soon find out that there's a lot more to their job than massaging or stripping. They have to perform sex acts on dozens of men nightly. If they refuse, they can be further threatened or beaten. Some of them are even kept in locked rooms with no contact with their families or the outside world, or they are told that they are constantly being watched. They're reminded that they are in the country illegally, and that because of this, no one can help them.
