Northeast Storm Closing Schools and Businesses Again
Traffic has been frozen, almost, this morning with just a couple to a few vehicles slush-ing through every 15 minutes. Because we live on a connecting road to other bordering cities, it's rather busy and even overwhelming at a quarter to five, when businesses close and employees hustle home. Currently less than 10 percent of the vehicles traverse this road today. Statewide severe weather advisories of NH have prompted school closures again, giving bus drivers another day off. The less traffic the better, which present easier accessible roadways for the cities plow trucks and emergency vehicles.
Our snow blower really takes a beating this season. We make an effort to be as efficient as we possibly can in cutting energy usage or fuel consumption, but mother nature has us spending more than we can afford. Last year alone we only had to refill our gas container a couple of times also sharing it with the lawn mower. This winter season since the first snowstorm, the container has been refilled twice just for the hogging snow blower. It has been snowing almost every other day. In the last week school was delayed twice: 1-hour delay one day and 2-hour delay the next day. Yet winter is not over, perhaps this time it could surpass snowfall record that had dumped 27 inches in New York of 2006.
