With the host of restaurant chains that specialize in pizza, it is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that pizza is pizza. If you do find yourself feeling like any one restaurant pizza is just about guaranteed to taste like every other pizza out there, do yourself the favor of heading to 360 Pizzeria located at 3425 SE 192nd St in east Vancouver. The restaurant, which was opened by Chef Brad Root, does a very good job of fulfilling its motto: "Experience the revolution."

Brad Root, who also owns and is head chef at Roots Restaurant and Bar located a mere 75 yards across the parking lot from 360, opened the restaurant with hopes of serving up an original menu of gourmet pizzas and pastas. One look into the nicely designed restaurant and its kitchen complete with a Fire Deck Wood Stove oven for cooking the pizzas and you might guess you are in for a dining experience somewhat different from Pizza Hut or Dominos.

The pizza choices on the menu are more gourmet and perhaps more exotic than the norm, but the deviation is welcome and delicious. The pizzeria does an excellent job of providing an environment that is classy, but comfortable. This makes it a perfect compliment to the food selection. When you partner the setting and food with the friendly, efficient, and helpful service, you get a trio of features that turn the simple act of eating into a full dining experience that truly is a "revolution" when it comes to pizza restaurants in the area. For followers of Brad Root, it is nothing less than what they have come to expect.

When you first glance at the menu you will notice many pizza topping choices that are very common: Canadian bacon, pepperoni, sausage, mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, peppers and tomatoes. But what separates 360 from the more typical pizza parlors is an abundance of options not often found elsewhere, which include caramelized onions, lamb sausage, garlic prawns, and leeks.
