I'm so awesome. Not only am I getting paid a insane amount of money to make this movie, but now I get to dress up, walk the red carpet so the "little people" can see how fabulous I am and on top of that I get a big shiny award, an award given to me by other rich people that think I did a good job and all of you Average Joes get to watch. I'm so awesome.

Please tell me why people even bother to watch award shows. I wish that they would cancel them all, the Grammy's, the Emmy's and especially the Oscars. I can't figure out for the life of me why anyone would want to suffer threw hours of celebrities patting themselves on the back. The entire spectacle is nothing more then a lavish ego boost for people that have more then anyone in the world needs in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, it's ok for people to be rewarded and recognized for doing a good job, but why just celebrities, actors, singer, producers and such? Why janitors or plumbers or nurses can't be awarded for doing a good job? Why can't we have the 1st Annual Custodian Awards? Are teachers and other professionals not worthy of being rewarded and admired?

I'm not telling anyone not to watch the award shows. I'm not telling anyone not to be in awe of these celebrities, what I am saying is that I'm not giving up three hours out of my life to watch these people over exaggerate their accomplishments. You're not a doctor, you don't save lives. You're not a teacher, you don't save minds. You're not a gardener; you don't cut my lawn because I'm far too lazy to do it myself. These people deserve to be honored and admired and if I'm going to spend three hours exalting someone it's not going to be Brad Pitt.

So in conclusion, you're proud of your work and I'm happy for you, but you don't need to televise it. Do what everyone else does when they get an award, make good grades, etc.., take it home to your family or better yet get bumper stickers made that say "My child is an Academy Award Winner", let your mom ride around with it on that Mercedes you bought her or put it on the fridge and spare the rest of us

Are award shows really necessary?
