Yoko Ono has told Lennon Murphy that she cannot use her first name in promoting her band. The head-banging hottie (not Yoko) had cleared the name Lennon with Ono and her lawyers back in 2000, when the band's debut CD "5:30 Saturday Morning" was getting ready to come out.
According to TMZ, Yoko has filed a suit claiming "tarnishment" of John Lennon's name, and that the use of the name is causing confusion among people. Therefore, Yoko has demanded the trademark received by the rocker in 2000 must be terminated.
Murphy has fired back on her MySpace page: "I'm not sure what confusion I could be causing since I don't have the $50,000 to hire a lawyer and fight this. If people were confusing me with John Lennon and accidentally buying my records I should have more than enough money to live my life and hire a lawyer? I wish that was the case."
Julian, John Lennon's son, has offered to give Murphy his full support.
