My oldest daughter is in elementary school and loves to create art. The "Doodle 4 Google" contest appears to be the perfect opportunity for her to show off her artistic abilities and imagination. Not to mention that my husband and I often tease her about her constant questions of "What If?", the theme of this year's "Doodle 4 Google" contest. Google has given my elementary school daughter the perfect opportunity to translate one of her questions into a Google logo and have it featured on Google's home page.

So just what is this "Doodle 4 Google" contest about? Children who attend participating schools are given the chance to design a logo for Google based on the "What If?" theme. Students will also need to come up with a title for their Google logo as well as a statement (up to 50 words) describing the vision behind their "What If" designed Google logo. The winner of the "Doodle 4 Google" contest will have their designed featured on Google's U.S. home page and so the "Google logo" must be clearly visible when students design the logo.

I asked my daughter about the "What If?" designs she could think up for the "Doodle 4 Google" contest. Her ideas so far include: "What if people had super powers?" "What if people could be color blind?" "What if I were a fashion designer?" We deliberated over all of her possible options for her Google logo design together to try and come up with one that would match her likes and personality well. We finally settled on a "What If?" that my daughter could claim as her own and use for her Google design. "What if I were bubble gum?" This question fits perfectly with my daughter's personality and will make a very interesting and playful submission to the "Doodle 4 Google" contest. She began to draw using a Google template we printed out from our home computer. To print your own templates you can visit this link.
