I bought the Kitchenaid Professional Egg Slicer last year during the Christmas season and this disappointed me after a couple of use. As I was in a hurry and could not spare much time to go through the technicalities of the egg slicer, I just picked Kitchenaid out of impulse. I don't think it was an irrational purchase because this is from the highly acclaimed Kitchenaid and there is some standards expected out of it. Since I already have a dozen of Kitchenaid pans, pots and cook wares, this was not something new and I was looking forward to the Egg Slicer to work with the same competence. But sadly this was a hollow dream and the insubstantial construction speaks volume about this inferior quality product.

I do not understand on what basis the Kitchenaid has added 'Professional' to its name because it does not look like one from any angle. This is no different from the thirds rate cheap imitation egg slicers available on the footpath at less than half the cost. I feel cheated for having paid $10. This is supposed to be the basic egg slicer with some cosmetic and functional change. I tried to convince myself that may be I got hold of defective slicer and was planning to replace it. Only after reading the reviews I realized that there are quite a number of customers who are unhappy with it. Either the Kitchenaid has screwed with the quality or the entire batch is defective.

I am in a way better than other guys because at least I got a chance to use it and there are some who found broken slicer inside the packet. The most common problem with this slicer is that the stainless steel wires that are designed to cut through the boiled egg come out soon. I guess the wires are loosely fixed and even with a slight pressure they break making the slicer useless. This happened to me when I was slicing the egg and not fruits. When the slicer cannot even chop soft egg, then how come the makers claim that it can slice through kiwi, straw berry and mushroom?
