A review of Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio begins and ends with the recognition that this is a school that is strongly based in Catholic tradition. The Jesuit order of priests head up the administration of this school and it is connected, at least in philosophy and theology, with the the other 27 Jesuit institutions of higher education across the nation. Xavier is not in the running in either size or academic reputation with larger Jesuit facilities like Georgetown or Boston College, but it still provides a very sound and values based education as you will discover from this review of Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio

Grounded Academics. Every undergraduate facility you review will be glad to tell you what majors they offer, what degree paths are most popular, what special study options are available. At Xavier University they will tell you all of those things too, but don't be surprised if when they talk about academics they begin by putting the spotlight on school values.

Being a Catholic college and being an institution of higher education in the Jesuit tradition is not just a lot of words to folks at Xavier University. There is not so much an attempt to proselytize as there is to inform undergrads of the need to ground whatever academic major they may pursue in basic moral and ethical principles. These are shared in basic core courses but are also part of the overall academic outlook of this university.
