How to Be Happy, According to Jesus Christ (PART 1)
Have You Ever Sat Down to Really Consider Jesus' Famous "Sermon on the Mount"?

The date was 31 C.E., it was a beautiful day - the scent of the trees filled the mountain air, and to all those reclined in the grass before the great teacher, Jesus Christ, the next words that flowed through their attentive ears were the most striking and perhaps beautiful of all. Jesus outlined 9 ways to be happy, naming beautiful qualities that could bring honor to God and could incur his favor. The first words that flowed from his lips were these: "Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need..." Yes, true and real happiness can only be found through being a spiritual person - a person who looks to his God, his Creator. It could not be found through material things or riches, and it could not even be found in another human. How rich this statement was, how intricate this thought!
He went on to say "Happy are those who mourn, since they will be comforted." Just how could one mourning be really happy? How could a young wife find joy while standing in the shadow of her new husband's death? How could an old man, alone in his wife's kitchen, smile when she's no longer there preparing his meal after all these years? How could someone, at the peak of their life, be happy when they feel an emptiness inside them? Consider: Does not God notice, yes - keenly observe, a sincere one's search for spirituality? Listen to what Jesus says about such ones: "They will be filled." Yes, there would be no reason to mourn over the death of a loved one; there would be no reason to be disheartened from a feeling of emptiness or worthlessness. Why? Because God will satisfy the desire of every living creature.
