Deciding to go back to school can be a tough decision, especially if you never liked school, or have been out of school for a long time. However, if you want to make a career change and make a better living for yourself, this may be a good option for you. With many people living busy lives nowadays, online education programs may be the way to go.

First, you should decide why you are unhappy with your current career status. Is it because you hate your boss or hate the people you work with? That's probably not the best reason to go back to school. If you truly think that you are meant to be doing something other than what you're currently doing, then online college might be for you. I chose to go back to school because I wanted to make more money. I decided not to go to traditional college right after graduating high school, because I knew college wasn't for me. The parties, the drinking, the whole college life thing just isn't who I am. It was a good decision for me, and I'm happy with the path I took. About a year after graduating high school, I looked into online career courses and degree programs. A commercial led me to PCDI, Professional Career Development Institute. You may have seen commercials for the school, showing a long list of programs on the screen that you can study. Well I called the 1-800 number only to find out that PCDI's college, now called Ashworth University, offers Associate, Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in addition to career certificate programs. I chose to enroll in an Associate degree program, and within 8 months, I was finished and on my way to graduating and getting a real degree!

People with degrees most often make more money per year than people without a degree. Why should you pay thousands of dollars to go to college, when you can go to online college for much less. The price of my online college program was a little under $4,000 TOTAL! Most online colleges will offer you interest-free monthly low payment options, as low as $40 per month. Some may accept financial aid, however PCDI and Ashworth did not. Still, $40 is very affordable.
