Having been raised in a Mormon household and community, I can attest that Mormons are notorious for loving each other forever. Family, friends and loved ones are in it for the long haul literally, not just one day out of the year created by Hallmark. Here are a few sure-fire tips on etiquette so that your Mormon will love you forever:
LDS is short for Latter Day Saints, not Timothy Leary's LySergic Acid Diethylamide.
Instead of "slug bug," when you see a set of missionaries peddling by, do a "bike strike."
Never say that you're bored during church, you'll be asked to give a talk next Sunday.
Show up to every event if you love FREE punch and cookies.
Ask questions in church that you only know the answers to or your fellow churchgoers will be over for dinner.
When you're at Starbucks, order hot chocolate or orange crème instead of coffee.
Discover "Fry Sauce" for your French Fries (hint: it's mayo and ketchup mixed).
Never say "Oh Mi God" or "Oh Lord" - it's "Oh My Word!"
Know that the "Spirit World" is the afterlife, not the Corner Liquor Store.
Memorize all the words to the Mormon Rap, you can do it on You Tube.
