I remember fondly as a kid, playing the game for the first time in the early 90s on Christmas day. The moment I played Super Mario World, I was hooked and been that way ever since. But before I get carried away with all the memories of playing SMW as a child I will state my opinion on the game.

Super Mario World debut:

Super Mario World is the first Mario edition on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System; following the three Mario series on the original Nintendo. It was first released internationally in November 21st 1990 in Japan, August 13th 1991 in the United States then in Europe, April 11 1992.

Background on the game:

Mario Luigi and Princess Toadstool are taking a quiet vacation in Dinosaur Land. All goes well until The Princess is kidnapped and all creatures in Dinosaur land are under a spell. Give that thanks to Bowser, (the King Koopa and his henchman) and Koopa Troopas. Bowser is a gnarly archenemy of Mario whom once again wants power and natural resources of Dinosaur Land. Despite the Yoshis trying to stop Bowser from entering their territory he as well put a spell on them too. All the Yoshis is trapped in colorful eggs until someone save them. It is up to Mario and Luigi once again to save the Princess and defeat Bowser before Dinosaur Land becomes no land!

Graphics:

I have to give thumbs up to Nintendo for better graphics on the SNES. The graphics is much more noticeable, more colorful and lively looking than the original Mario Bros. series. Characters are ever more cartoony looking as so does the background.

Sound:

Also the sound effects is clearer, hearing Mario jumping, Yoshi spitting out fire or Big Bullet Bill coming out its bullet hole. The music presented in the game throughout each level (and when entering each world) has a different tune that is quite cheery, going along the flow with the designs and the whole scenery of the game.

I was always a Sega die-hard, but I recently got my hands on a Super Nintendo and this is one of the games I've gotten hooked on. It's a lot like Super Mario Land 2 for the old gameboy, one of my favorite games ever. A Classic!
