Turned out there was not a single flick in seeing how Halloween was right around the corner, and every Tom, Dick and Harry hit up the horror section, so I figured I would settle for something humorous yet with a mini dash of horror, and this is why I brought this movie home with me.
Night of the Living Dorks is about; well, dorks, 3 of them to be precise, one dork named Philip has a wild obsession with the most beautiful and popular girl in school, another dork called Weener smokes pot all day and drools over his much older school teacher, and the final dork Konrad... well I couldn't figure out what he brought to the movie. He was the glasses wearing mega dork.
Night of the Living Dorks is a German movie, but the English voice-overs were pretty good, and when your 5 minutes into the movie you don't even realize that their mouth movements aren't matching up to their voices. (Yep it's Godzilla gone modern)
Anyways Philip's next-door neighbor is into voodoo, and voodoo rituals and all that satanic stuff, so when he learns that she may be able to help him put a love spell on the girl of his dreams he sets up to meet with her in the local graveyard. Along with him comes his dork squad Weener, and Konrad. These dorks travel together at all times.
In the middle of the ritual things go wrong when the ashes of a demon are sprayed all on the dorks, instead of in the altar bowl. This is where the movie begins for the most part.
So two minutes later as they all head home the three of them die in a car accident thanks to the pot-smoking dork Weener. They are not dead though. They have all come back as zombies!
It takes them a few moments to grasp the whole idea of being zombies, but soon enough they bask in the limelight when they realize being a zombie isn't such a bad thing after all.
They now have superhuman strength and are able to fight back to those who once bullied them. Their new powers grant them aces into the cool club, and the dorks are no longer dorks. They are cool.
