All rankings are based off of a standard 5x5 rotisserie scoring system (runs, homeruns, rbi, stolen bases, average) in mixed AL/NL leagues. For additional fantasy information on players and their teams, click on the team name link after each player to view a fantasy preview for that team in 2008. Good luck in your league this season!

BUST = player will register far below their 2007 stat totals
BREAKOUT = player will surpass expectations and/or have a career year in 2008
SLEEPER = player will be a late round pick or go undrafted and has a good chance of producing fantasy worthy stats in 2008

1. Victor Martinez - Cleveland Indians
Led all catchers in 2007 with 25 homeruns and 114 rbi's.

2. Russell Martin - Los Angeles Dodgers
Any catcher who can hit 20 homeruns and steal 20 bases is a luxury.

3. Joe Mauer - Minnesota Twins
He has the talent, now he just needs to find his health.

4. Brian McCann - Atlanta Braves BREAKOUT
Would be better than Mauer if not for a setback in 2007.

5. Kenji Johjima - Seattle Mariners
Can't complain about good steady offensive production from a catcher.

6. Jorge Posada - New York Yankees BUST
Which Posada shows up in '08? The 2007 version or the 2005 version?

7. Jarrod Saltalamacchia - Texas Rangers
Here's hoping the Rangers give Salty the starting job out of the gates.

8. Ivan Rodriguez - Detroit Tigers
Has there been a more consistent catcher over the past 15 years?

9. Jason Varitek - Boston Red Sox
Where did the power and average go?

10. Ramon Hernandez - Baltimore Orioles
From great to ok in one year.

11. AJ Pierzynski - Chicago White Sox

12. Ronny Paulino - Pittsburgh Pirates BREAKOUT
No breakout season in 2007. How about 2008?

13. Mike Napoli - Los Angeles Angels BREAKOUT
What ever happened to stud prospect Jeff Mathis?

14. Bengie Molina - San Francisco Giants

15. Kurt Suzuki - Oakland Athletics BREAKOUT
He ain't Ichiro, but he's still talented.

16. Geovany Soto - Chicago Cubs SLEEPER
Has the best opportunity to be a great fantasy catcher by seasons end.

17. Chris Snyder - Arizona Diamondbacks

18. Michael Barrett - San Diego Padres BUST
