As we know that diabetes is a mysteries disease, and if not look after and controlling the disease may cause to extreme injuries to the body organs. Tooth and mouth both are two of the organs that should be mentioned. And actually they are really depended to each other, and the disease of one cause disease of one another.

Most of the diabetic patients are so susceptible to oral infections that caused by millions of microbes that live in mouth naturally. But with increasing of blood sugar these natural microbes turn into dangerous and fatal micro organism. Diabetic patients are more susceptible to gingival and teeth infections, and that's because of the weakness of the organ immunity.

As we know diabetes cause lower getting blood to gingiva so the infections happen more. The disease make Xerostomia (lacking of salivary secretion and dryness of the mouth) and gingivitis more. Also the lack of secretion boosts decays and dental plaques.

Also I should mention to the diabetes in which the most of the dentists are paying attention to it because of the urgency that makes, and what is that , it's Periodontitis , have you ever heard of it?, if No, so please listen and read carefully what it is.

Periodontal disease is a chronic disease that cause by bacteria and affect the gum and the bone supporting the teeth, it is urgent because if it leaved untreated will make tooth loss, and for diabetic patients it will even threaten their life and that's why it's going to be very important for dentists, and also linked to the coronary artery disease and strokes and low birth weigh which makes it more essential, nowadays.

Diabetic patients are more likely to get periodontal disease than non diabetic patients and that's because of the weakness of immunity, and by research we got that diabetic patients that well-controlled are less in danger from periodontitis , so we understand that controlling the blood sugar of the patients will cause less infections and less periodontitis.

The Signs of the disease:

Bleeding, gingival wounds, frequent infections and bad smell of mouth (also in dentistry called odor) are the dental signs of the diabetic patients.
