As part of the hearings concerning the Mitchell Report, the congressional study done on the abuse of enhancement drugs in Major League Baseball, Roger Clemens, the seven times Cy Young Award-winner, faced a bipartisan panel of congressmen Wednesday, February 13, for almost five hours. Joining him in being questioned was his former trainer, Brian McNamee, who revealed that he injected Clemens with Human Growth Hormone while Clemens was a pitcher, something Clemens had vehemently denied.

As he did while being grilled by several Democratic congressmen. To provide contrast and contradiction, McNamee maintained that he was the truthful one of the two when criticized and questioned by many of the Republican members of the panel.

Somehow the fact-finding hearing broke down into a partisan political battle.

Brian McNameee answered question after question about lying previously under oath (which he admitted to), about telling the truth about Clemens' injections of Human Growth Hormone, and about his character and glorified "drug dealer" status. As bad as it sometimes got, McNamee remained calm through it all and maintained that he was not a "drug dealer."

Roger Clemens maintained that he was drug free, had always been. About friend Andy Pettitte's sworn testimony that he had revealed to him in a conversation years ago that he had indeed been injected by McNamee, Clemens stated that Pettitte "misremembered" what was said in that conversation. He once had to be called to order by Chairman Henry Waxman for interrupting the congressman during a statement. Clemen's behavior, his fidgeting and the constant licking of his lips, showed the baseball great to be in an anxious state.

Bush needs to pardon the Border Patrollers who put their lives on the line to protect all of us but got put in jail by your judge! Not to pardon the gangster like Clemens. Mr. Bush, please stand up, stand by, stand behind and stand for the goõd men and wemon who protect our country and that I will assure you that you will go down in the history as a great President not like Bill Clinton.
