The Cast of SpongeBob SquarePants Dubs in the Voices in Classic Scenes from the Godfather, Casablanca and Singin' in the Rain

The voice of Sandy Squirrel coming out of Ilsa's mouth in Casablanca? The voice of SpongeBob SquarePants coming out of Don Vito Corleone's mouth as he dresses down Johnny Fontaine, who speaks like Patrick Star, in The Godfather? It shouldn't work. But it does. And hilariously, too.
In addition to Casablanca and The Godfather, the cast of SpongeBob SquarePants also takes on the classic scene from Singin' in the Rain when squeaky-voiced silent film star Lina Lamont is trying her darndest to learn how to speak coherently into a microphone. It all makes for some really great fun and a small-sized window of video entertainment that is far more memorable than 99% of what is offered on YouTube.

If you'll follow the link at the end of this article you'll get taken to the videos I've described here, available at CollegeHumor.com. Of them all, it is perhaps Patrick Star's take on Victor Laszlo in Casablanca that is funniest; there is just something about that big pink starfish's deep, and deeply stupid, delivery that just is so disconcerting coming out of the only unambiguously heroic figure in that entire movie really lifts it into the stratosphere. Oh wait, even better is Patrick Star doing Lina Lamont in Singin' in the Rain. You might expect that Sandy Squirrel would be doing Lina and while that would be funny, it's not nearly as funny as Sandy Squirrel's voice coming out of Gene Kelly's Don Lockwood in the same scene. If you haven't yet seen Singin' in the Rain, you need to understand that much of the humor, as well as the crux of the plot, is based around the fact that Lina was a huge, huge star during silent era (they had FACES then), but her transition into talkies is complicated due to her ridiculously out of place vocal intonation. Jean Hagen should have won an Oscar the part, but Patrick Star is nearly as funny.

BTW: I am aware that Sandy's full name is Sandy Cheeks, but I chose to call her Sandy Squirrel for the benefit of those who aren't familiar with the show. I apologize in advance to all diehard SB fans who may feel I slighted their favorite character by making this decision.
