Speed demons have no fear, Njection.com is here! Njection.com is a multifaceted web site for car lovers. The site offers automotive blogs, a place to post pictures of your ride and an avenue to discuss all things auto. The web site feature that has been attracting attention recently, however, is the ability to find speed traps located on your daily commute.

SpeedTrap is "a mashup program that combines Microsoft Live Maps and the ability to pinpoint and review speed traps located anywhere on the planet," the web sites main page says.

By simply clicking on the SpeedTrap button, users are sent to a page where they type in their local Zip Code, City, State or cross street. After inputting this information click on the "search for traps" button and wait while SpeedTrap pulls up a detailed local map. Users are allowed to choose between three different viewing options, Road, Aerial and Hybrid.

Once the map is loaded registered user submitted speed traps are illustrated on the map with red dots. By rolling your cursor over the red dot you can see different levels of information. In the simplest mode it shows how many speed traps are present and allows the user to click to view more information and a zoomed in image. Depending on the amount of information that has been entered you can even see if there are red light camera's present, the speed for the area and the level of enforcement for the area. Users may even zoom in as close as 70 yards to view specifically where the speed traps are located.

A handy tool indeed. A reformed speeder myself, I have had more than my fair share of speeding tickets in the relatively short amount of time I have been driving. Each time that I have been ticketed for speeding, roughly five times, I was caught in a speed trap on the interstate or highway.
