Are you looking to avoid paying those hefty speeding tickets? Well there is a website that can help you avoid them, and it is completely free. The website is Njection.com. All you have to do is log on to Njection.com and review your planned route for any speed traps that you might encounter along your trip.

So, how does Njection.com work? Well it is rather simple. It relies on maps and input from it's members. The maps you can view on Njection are provided by Microsoft Live Maps. The maps will have points highlighted on them that are known speed trap locations. As stated above these speed trap locations are provided by commuters just like yourself throughout the entire world..

This can be very helpful for people traveling in new areas where they aren't familiar with where speed traps are located. It can also be helpful for those of you that aren't aware of the speed traps in your local area. Of course the effectiveness can be limited if a speed trap is set up in a location that is new and nobody has reported it to Njection.com yet.

Njection.com might have helped me avoid getting a speeding ticket one day in the area I worked at in Maryland last year if the program had been around back then and I knew about it. After making a turn on a major road in a business park where you had to accelerate to cross traffic, I was pulled over by a police office on the side street that I turned onto.

The officer informed me that I was going well over the speed limit of the side street that I was traveling on. Of course to avoid violating that 25 mph speed limit I would have had to brake as soon as I made my turn and accelerated to avoid cross-traffic. I didn't even think about that, so I received the ticket.

Apparently this was a location that had that speed trap set up rather frequently. I had never seen it before so I was not aware of it. If I had been able to access Njection.com back them, it would have made me aware of the speed trap. Knowing that I would have either waited for a larger opening in cross traffic to cross at a slower speed, or I would have reduced my speed as soon as I got onto the smaller road. This is one way that Njection.com could help people avoid a speeding ticket.
