Imagine that you're at your own going away party that your closest friends threw for you, in celebration to you going off to Japan for a great new career opportunity! Now imagine the strangest occurrence-taking place on this very same night that will radically change the lives of you and all your friends forever! Enter CLOVERFIELD, from the brilliant mind of J.J. Abrams (behind the hit TV series Alias with actress Jennifer Garner), a suspense thriller that is bound to keep you glued to the edge of your seat from beginning to end.

A group of friends are wishing their buddy Rob off to his new job in Japan with a party, when they are suddenly and abruptly disrupted by a disturbance. After some outside investigating they go on to find out that the city (story takes place in Manhattan NYC) is under attack, by someone or something! A few moments later, a peculiar large object comes hurling in the direction of Rob and his friends in the street, much to their surprise as they find out it's the head to the Statue of Liberty! Now I don't know about you, but if I'm out in the street with a group of friends and we hear a large, thunderous earthquake like jolt, followed by the head to a monument like the Statue of Liberty flung in my direction, I'm getting the hell out of Dodge, quickly! But our friends as movie magic would so conveniently have it aren't scared off quite that urgently. So after the initial shock and confusion, they gather themselves up enough to realize they must evacuate the city!

I'll agree that they should have showed the monster more toward the end! But I think thety teased us with it throughout the movie to build up the suspense toward the end to make for a climatic confrontation at the end! I think it could have been heightend had they showed more of the monster and maybe more importantly why or how the monsters came there in the first place! Still I enjoyed the thrill ride experience even if I was a little sea sick from all the jerky movement at the beginning. But after 15 minutes or so, I got used to it. Sorry you didn't feel the same way, but thanks for commenting much appreciated! Peace, Wisdom Supreme

i thought it sucked more than half the movie was running around and hiding and they hardly showed the creature and or creatures destroying stuff the big one was always hidden behind something and they only showed it in daylight for about 15 seconds and even then it wasnt a clear view of the thing overall i think the concept was good but executed poorly
