Airman's Attics are a familiar sight at US Air Force bases around the United States and around the world. But the purpose of each Airman's Attic is the same.

Location and Hours

The Airman's Attic at Beale AFB has moved from 5114A Tern Court, and is now located at 2459 Robert Nicoletti Way, which is behind the Omni. The telephone number for the Airman's Attic at Beale AFB is (530) 634-5640. The Airman's Attic is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00am-2:00pm, Tuesday and Thursday 5:00pm-7:00pm and on the last Saturday of the month from 10:00am-12:00pm.

Purpose of the Airman's Attic

The purpose of the Airman's Attic is to provide lower ranking enlisted military personnel and junior officers and their families with free household goods, furniture, children's toys, clothes and more. Although the main purpose of the Airman's Attic is to help support lower ranking military personnel and their family members, the Airman's Attic also holds an "All Ranks Day" on the last Friday of every month. On the "All Ranks Day", the Airman's Attic is open to all ranks, including military retirees.

Usage Guidelines

However, as with all military rights and privileges, the Airman's Attic has a set of strict guidelines that volunteers and customers must adhere to. Each family is limited with the amount of clothing, books, toys and household items that they can obtain each week. Call the Airman's Attic for details about how many items you are able to obtain each week. Second hand uniforms can only be obtained by the active duty member, which means active duty personnel cannot appoint their spouse or child to obtain uniforms for them. Customers and staff are strongly advised to adhere to these guidelines. Apart from exceptional circumstances, if a customer or volunteer is found guilty of violating the usage guidelines, the sponsor's First Sergeant will be informed and disciplinary action will be taken against them.

Donation Guidelines

Takeaways
  • The Airman's Attic provides free goods to eligible members
  • Volunteers and patrons must abide by usage guidelines; violations will result in disciplinary action
  • Donated items must be clean and in reasonably good condition
