No wedding is completely mistake-proof, but there are little mistakes and then are mistakes that have people talking for years after the wedding.

First and foremost - watch your wardrobe. The last thing any bride or groom needs on their big day is a wardrobe malfunction. This is the sort of thing that gets talked about everytime someone mentions the wedding - and can end up immortalized through your wedding pictures and video. Check the appearance of your dress in various lighting and make sure dresses and tuxes are properly fitted before the day arrives. Remember - that black lingerie might be a nice surprise for your husband-to-be, but you don't want to show it off to the entire guest list!

During your ceremony, one of the most important things to do is to be on time for the wedding! Being late to the altar is inconsiderate - not only to your soon-to-be-spouse, but to your guests and service people as well. Things can go wrong at the drop of a dime, but being late to your wedding is highly unacceptable, with the exception of something completely out of your control. Also, before you walk down the aisle, make sure you know exactly where the ring is! You might think this is something that only happens in the movies and on TV, but it happens a lot more in real life than it should. Before the ceremony begins and you walk down the aisle, make sure that you know where the ring is to avoid ruining a ceremony with the panic that comes with lost rings.

Takeaways
  • Do NOT invite your ex to the wedding!
  • Speeches and toasts should be made before people begin to drink.
  • Make sure to have enough food at the reception!
