Recap: Big Brother 9, Episode 3

The episode takes up from where the last episode ended, once Alex and Amanda won the HOH Competition. The Houseguests come back into the house to see the memory wall with all their photos on it. Amanda said "My worst picture, ever!" Jen points out that her card is in the first position on the top row and tells everyone that it means she is going to win. James says "Jen is the cockiest person in the house." Parker complains about Jen running her mouth and then confronts her about it. He tells her how her cockiness is being perceived in the house and she needs to stop and think. She apologizes repeatedly.

Allison is upset about being paired with Ryan. She says "I don't wanna be with someone else's boyfriend." She and Parker discuss how they were both put into a bad position because of Jen and Ryan's relationship. When Jen hears that they are alone in the spa room talking, she and Ryan go in to confront them. Allison warned Jen that she will spill their secret if Jen disrespects her in any way.

In another room, Amanda, James, Chelsia and Neil are talking. Amanda says that her voice leads people to believe that she is dumb, when she is not. They ask her how she handles that and she said that her father hung himself and "If I can get over his suicide and picking out his coffin, at twenty-one years old, I can deal with anything else people throw at her." They ask her about her dad and she tells them that they were very close. His last message to her said "Thanks, you never answer the phone with I need you" and then went on to say that he was going to kill himself because he had nothing to live for. Amanda believes that if she had answered that call, he would not have killed himself.

When Amanda and Alex get their HOH room and everyone goes in to see it with them, there are no personal photos on the walls. The only photos are of Amanda and Alex within the game. Alex shows the guys a piece of the World Trade Center from 911 that his family sent to him. His father was killed there. Amanda wept when she saw that her brother had sent her their father's favorite CD, Al Green.
