The contestants seemed a little too slick and glib in their speech, and some of the "miracle comebacks" in the events seemed just a bit too miraculous and convenient. But the thing that really made me question whether the new American Gladiators show on NBC was when one of the female contestants, claiming to be a United States soldier, yelled "Hoo-rah! Semper Fi!".

You see, "Hoo-rah" is an Army thing. "Semper Fi" is a Marines thing. Anyone who was really in either of those services would not mix the two in the same breath.

Poking around the internet has turned up a lot of debate and discussion on this issue. Many people are making observations and turning up pieces of evidence that seem to indicate that the new American Gladiators is about as real of a competition as the WWE wrestling that host Hulk Hogan used to participate in.

A video recently uploaded to Youtube points out numerous suspicious activities in slow motion. One contender who was getting very far ahead of another during the Eliminator race appears to purposely drop/throw a rope and puts forth a suspiciously lackluster effort in climbing. This gimmick is employed not only in the women's race, but again in the men's race. One contestant who gets very far ahead will suspiciously flop on the ground looking for all the world like a wrestler pretending to be hurt and exhausted.

any one of reason knows that hoorah is not an army thing, the army saying is hooah, hoorah is infact a marine saying, if you are gonna comment on a show based on a saying you need to get your facts correct before showing your ignorance of hoorah and hooah!

I'm not a fan of shows like these, however I've grazed over them while channel surfing. During my short observations, I would say they were mostly put on. But hey, can you blame the producers, they want an audience and a lot of people like that sort of thing.
