Do You Know What's Living in Your House? Unwanted Lodgers Are Waiting for You

What is Sharing Your House Without Your Knowledge?

Do you know what's living in your house with you? Please be warned that after you have read this article, you may never stop scratching again. Your home has visitors that you rarely see and no matter how much cleaning and clearing out you do, they are still there.

No, I am not talking about unwanted relatives who insist on outstaying their welcome, although they can be just as persistent. These visitors just keep coming back. No matter what you do they will be back within a few
 hours.

If you look behind radiators, above door frames, under lampshades and along the tops of curtain fittings you will probably find dust, no matter how careful and diligent you are in your cleaning routine. If you took a sample of this house dust and put it under a microscope you would frighten yourself. The whole thing would be alive.

Dust is made up of minute particles less than 500 microns in diameter. (A micron is one millionth of a meter. ) Most of this is human skin flakes and scientists estimate that we shed our entire skin every couple of days at a rate seven million skin cells per minute.

Dust mites thrive in this dust and enjoy the feast we provide, mixed with animal dander, bacteria, particles from plants and insects, bits of roach shell and other tasty morsels. They are not short of comfortable bedding either, because stuffing, fibers, lint, cotton and feathers are perfect for this.

These dust mites excrete enzymes to help them to digest the house dust and of course, produce excrement. This gets into the air and on you as well as into you through your nose and mouth.

Then it's time to raise a family and the comfortable mites start to reproduce.

These mites lay eggs in their comfortable nests and when you dust you spread them all over your carpets and furnishings. They land on you skin and cause itching and allergies but worst of all, you breath them in. This can cause allergies including asthma in susceptible people and is one of the main causes of allergic rhinitis.
