I recently moved back to the small town where I am from in Western Maryland, I lived there my entire life before meeting my husband. We lived in Easton, Pennsylvannia for the last 5 years. Moving back has proved to be the best decision we have made. I think we would have done it sooner if we thought we could still live the same way. But honestly you may make less money than you would somewhere else but the cost of living is so much cheaper. For me I chose to move back home so my children would get to see their grandparents and know the rest of my family. We certainly won't miss the traffic, crime, and being so close to everyone either.

You would be surprised how much you miss something when you move, growing up here as a teenager wasn't always fun because there isn't a ton of stuff to do. But teenagers say that regardless of where they live, it's some sort of phase they go through. It is a great place to raise a family though, there are tons of activities for everyone in the family.

Living in the city is nice when you are single or if you are making a ton of money, but most of the people that I met were struggling to get by just like we were. I would recommend to anyone to move out of the city, more so if you have children. I can't remember the last time there was a murder down here and up there it was an every day occurence. It's just nice to be able to see people you know and have a great community support system. Don't get me wrong, you still have people doing drugs or drinking and driving, but nothing compared to up there.

You also have to get used to the longer drive when you are going shopping, they don't have a mall here and the closest town is 15 minutes away. But i would gladly sacrifice all the convience of living a minute away from the grocery store or mall to let my children be able to run around in the yard without worrying about them getting kidnapped or hit by a car. The schools are better here too and people look out for each other. Of course, when I was younger I thought they were being nosy but I would rather have people to tell me what my kids are doing when they are teenagers than not knowing what they are up to.
