Fred Phelps Gay?

Fred Phelps and his congregation of inbred bible-thumpers are set to protest yet more funerals. My friend Rich wrote about the upcoming protests of the "God Hates Fags" movement in his article "Hate Group Protests At NIU."

In an article I did about this group, I derided all Southern Baptists because Fred Phelps has aligned himself with their church. Many Baptists took offense at this and rightfully so. To compare Phelps with any mainstream congregation is plain wrong. Although he claims to be aligned with the SBC, Phelps is not a Southern Baptist. In fact, Phelps is not a Christian by any stretch of the imagination.

I said that the Southern Baptists were not the brightest bulbs in the lamp. This was offensive, although my personal feelings are that people who follow organized religion TO THE LETTER and do not keep an open mind that they might be wrong are usually not too bright. This goes for all organized religions in which someone blindly follows without thinking - which is pretty much what they all want you to do anyway. After all, if you think you might stop going to church and then how would they collect your money?

Phelps is, however, a pretty shrewd media pig. He is a Jerry Springer. He leads his band of freaks on these crusades to gain publicity for himself. He doesn't care about his congregation as they are only there to do his bidding. He doesn't care about God, although the big guy comes in handy and can be used to get people to do what Phelps wants. And what does Fred Phelps want most of all? Let's take a guess.....could it be....Money?

Phelps is using some hapless inbreeds as a way to garner publicity for his "cause" and get some contributions. They only protest at funerals that are going to be covered by the press so that they can get into the news. Fred Phelps is a media pig.

According to Fred Phelps, homosexuality is the worst sin in the world. Worse than murder or using God as an excuse to make money. Fred Phelps is so against homosexuality that he created the "God Hates Fags" website to denounce homosexuals - actually stating that God hates them.
