There is nothing better than a freebie. Scratch that...I meant to say, there is nothing better than a freebie that actually does an awesome job.

My Weekly Walmart Freebie:

Head & Shoulders Smooth and Silky Conditioner. (If you check Walmart.com's front page you too can have freebies sent to your home).

Anyhow, I ended up getting not one, but two packages of the new Head and Shoulders Smooth and Silky Conditioner.

The NEW difference?

The difference is subtle... the original dandruff fighting ingredients are still packed in the new smooth and silky formula. Only it does a bit more then what it used to do. The new smooth and silky formula is designed to not only fight the flakes, but it also leaves hair smooth and... yeah, silky.

Scent:

I'm actually a bit surprised in the conditioner. The shampoo had a very nice soapy clean scent, but the conditioner had a more chemical clean scent. The fragrance was still nice, but it was not as nice as the shampoo. It had a very vitamin like scent mixed with a clean fabric softener fragrance. Nice...but just a little weird.

My Use:

I first rinsed my hair using Head & Shoulders Smooth and Silky shampoo.

I then doused my hair with the entire contents of the conditioner packet. The conditioner goes in easily, and does manage to tangle knots as you apply.

I let the conditioner sit in my hair for the normal 3 minute time period, and then I rinsed. As I rinsed I noticed a very sleek difference before even stepping out and drying my hair. You know you are going to get good results in the shower when your hair is rinsing and it has that smooth straight glide feeling to it.

My guess was correct. My hair was left smooth, and silky. My hair also had a nice fresh clean scent left behind. Thankfully the vitamin scent that I first noticed washed out.

As my hair began to air dry I did get the usual frizz...but that is compliments of having thick wavy hair. I did notice though that knots were not present, and my dry hair (I dyed my hair about 4 times this month...maybe more) actually was moisturized.

Overall:

Thanks for the review. I use VO5, but I have been on a hunt for something new and inexpensive. Cyn

great review Melissa, sorry I haven't been by. I was not getting any notifications since January 7th. It took 6 emails, and some posting and pm-ing on AC forums, and surprise today, I finally got my notifications. So you'll be seeing me alot more. Hugs Mary

This is really good stuff. My husband and son use this. I don't because I use something else that I prefer.
