Human error. It's inescapable. There's no way to make the perfect human being. Even computers sometimes mess up. Of course that's usually can be traced back to some sort of human error. Many things happen to us in life that we wish didn't. Things that aren't our fault, yet we were unable to avoid them from coming our way and sometimes changing our life forever.
Perhaps you've listened to the song 'Ironic' by Alannis Morissette. Througout the song she talked about all of these things that happen in life, like 'a death row pardon two minutes too late' or someone conquering their fear of flying and then the plane crashes! This song reminds me of things that happen to us that we couldn't avoid, despite trying.
Now, here are ten ways that human error may have affected you or might just catch you by surprise at sometime in your life. After reading these, you'll probably agree with me that you wish there was some way we could avoid having these things happen to us! Listed are also ways to help avoid the errors, but often no matter what you do, you will still fall victim to human error!
1. Dental error. This is a big one. Maybe your dentist accidentally filled the wrong tooth, so now you have to have your mouth drilled into twice instead of just once (since the other tooth still needs a filling.) You ask yourself, how in the world did the dentist make this error? I was once in a dentist's office, sitting in the chair, and I thought I heard the assistant say 'you filled number 23 instead of 24' or something like that. What this meant was that they filled the wrong tooth. It does happen, people! Or, maybe the dentist drilled too far upon filling and now you need a root canal. Maybe the dentist does the work for free, but you still lose half of your tooth structure, its vitality, and have to go through hours worth of dental work!
What to do here is to know the tooth numbers and go over each step of work to your mouth before it begins. If your dentist said that tooth 16 needs a filing, then before he starts, say "So you're about to fill tooth 16, right?"
