On the heels of the resignation of former EBay CEO, Meg Whitman, EBay stock has experienced what some consider to be a drastic decline according to to the NationalPost.com author, Erich Auchard. In an attempt to reverse the decline, EBay has implemented changes that many sellers find outrageous. These new rules, which began February 18, 2008, have prompted many sellers into looking for an alternative on-line marketplace in which to peddle their wares. A large group of sellers will be participating in a boycott from February 18, 2008 until February 25, 2008. Sellers hope that this will cause EBay to step back, take a long hard look at their new regulations, and make changes.

In the search for a new auction forum, many sellers have come across MilBid.com. MilBid.com is considered an up-and-comer in the auction world. MilBid.com is owned and by active duty United States Air Force Airman, Adam Mulholland, and is maintained and operated by Mulholland, himself, and other members of the military and retired servicemen. The site went live on February 8, 2008.

MilBid.com offers free listings and no selling fees, which many sellers consider the sites biggest attraction. Mulholland has indicated that the auction site will continue to be free for as long as he can foresee, only charging for extra, optional, services in the future. Approximately 25% of the profits received from the web site are donated in support of the troops. Care packages and aide to military families who have members serving overseas will benefit from the donations that will be made from the profits.

Members of the military and civilians alike are welcome to register to buy and sell on MilBid.com. Many users consider this a great way to show their deep appreciation to our troops who serve our country each day. Mulholland is working to implement site upgrades to ensure the site is user-friendly and is functioning to its full potential.

Interesting! Thanks! Also, AC is my ONE source of income. Lately, everything is being rejected (though I'm thinking a new CM has been assigned to me), could you do my a favor and visit some of my articles? If you comment, I always make sure to visit your articles so you get page views as well. I don't feel it's fair unless the page views are reciprocated.
