Having a welcoming home is important to many of us and as the weather changes, we want our home to match the mood of the weather outside. Seasonal decorating is important, it helps us to contrast the weather outside. When it's warm, we want pastels and when it's cold, we want to feel cozy and warm. With Summer just around the corner, we want our home to match the bright days that come with it. This guide includes some tips for creating a beautiful room to match the mood of any season.

Spring and Summer
In order to change the mood of a room without completing a complete overhaul of the premises, first chose the basic colors of the room. These are the colors that the room seems to revolve around. Once you have chosen you're color, try to find lighter, complimentary colors to accent you're room. Find pillows, pictures, throws, and anything else that you think would bring a splash of light, airy colors to the room. Try finding light and soft textured fabrics for a Spring room, especially if you plan on buying a new throw. The curtains should also be sheer to let in as much natural light as possible. If you don't want to spend extra money on new pictures, try gathering some items from nature that echo the changes that are occurring. You can frames leaves or flowers to bring a sense of Spring to your room.

Fall and Winter
Winter is a time of snow, soup, and snuggling! During Winter, we want our homes to feel warm and cozy so find deeper colors to accent the room. Deep reds tend to look great during the Winter season. Find heavier fabrics to accent the room. Try buying a warm throw that you can really snuggle up in. You may also want to change the curtains so the room feels extra cozy and not so open. Evergreen plants might be a good item to frame so that you can change the feeling of the room without the hassle of buying new paintings.

Seasonal decorating can be very fun, but it is much easier if you think about how you plan on changing the room before you decorate it in the first place. Try to find colors that can easily transition from Winter to Spring and Summer to Fall. With a little work and creativity, you'll have a beautifully decorated home for all seasons.
