Kidney stones, also known as calculi, are usually made up from calcium, uric acid, oxalate or phosphate. These are found accumulated in the urinary track and the kidneys. There are many likely causes for kidney stones including not drinking enough water to flush out the your system, consuming too much milk, cheese, and protein, and of course, that roll of the dice we call genetics.

It is estimated that 10% of the general population will suffer from this extremely painful condition. Men (1 out of 5 cases) are more apt to experience kidney stones than women and Caucasians are more likely to have them than Afro-Americans. There also seems to be an increase in the occurrences of kidney stone cases over the last 20 years.

There are many treatments for this painful condition. after the appropriate testing including 24 hour urine samples, blood test, provocative calcium loading tests, and stone analysis to determine the type of stone, and it's possible underlying cause. The treatments range from very invasive, surgery to a less invasive treatments involving shock waves, a tub of water. This three hour long process is known as lithrotripsy - which means stone crushing, and even though the tub of water has been eliminated it still is somewhat invasive and expensive. There are other treatment including lasers, removing the stones through the urethra, and using air pressure.

Takeaways
  • possible ways to avoid kidney stones
  • treatment options vary
  • this natural treatment works

Is this a scam? I've seen this in many other websites. Can check http://www.homeremedyforkidneystones.com Is this the original information or is it a plagiarized scam? Anyway, this information does make sense though. I am keeping it as a record in my research but do not know which source to cite. I don't know which one is original. Everyone looks like they want to be original. That's normal but it doesn't hurt also to quote and acknowledge others for sharing their findings.

I've had two kidney stones so far with hospitalisation both times - all they do is fill you with morphine for the pain and plenty of water (intravenously) and wait for the stone to pass. I think I'll try this method next time and also another great idea given in www.jumpandbump.com!

I woke up yesterday morning in extreme pain. After 2 hours I went to the hospital, had a cat scan and discovered I had a kidney stone. My sister told me about the coke and "asparagoop" method. I did it yesterday afternoon and so far, there's been no pain since, but, I also have not noticed if I passed the stone or not. Still waiting...

After 8 weeks and four hospitalizations for a recent kidney stone, I was told about this procedure. I did not use the asparagus, but did down the 6 cokes in 2 hours. Twenty minutes later I passed the stone with no pain. The stone was 3mm by 5 mm. The Urologist said that this had nothing to do with passing the stone, but I'm a believer!

I understand what you are saying but this technique is just a blast of caffeine and carbonation, not a day to day thing where it could accumulate.

Interestingly, after my first bout with kidney stones, I was told to steer clear of caffeinated beverages. But there are at least two different types of kidney stones, and I get the kind that are caused by things containing caffeine.
