Just recently I have begun to notice the sweet beauty that surrounds my simple existence. I have not found value in the vain things such as a worthless yet exceedingly expensive purse, or a brand new vehicle. The life that can rise from the earth with the gentle kisses of the sun, and a sparse sprinkle of water has captivated my attention. Something so simple as planting a seed and awaiting its growth has an amazing affect on me, as I think it should most people. Instead of yet another dull shirt, a wasteful unexpressive card, or some silly knick-knack why not give the gift of the earth. Giving a friend or family member a piece of your garden is a beautiful token of any celebration or family get-together.

The best way to be able to give the gift of a garden is to take the recipient into account. Does this person cook often? Do they have a particular love of anything pink? Are the often forgetful, or on the flipside are they very attentive? If you take this into account prior to selecting a plant to grown and give in a lovely pot you will for sure make their gift last a while. The prefect potted gift for a chief would be a pot of herbs. Some of the simplest herbs to grow are the ones most commonly found within dishes. It is best to plant some chives, basil, and even mint about two months prior to wanting to pass out this culinary delight. The best idea when it comes to making these herb pots would be to grow a tray of ten to eight of each of the different types of herbs so you can readily make an herb pot for whatever special occasion pops up. These herb pots can be kept indoors on a window sill in the kitchen for a handy snip here and there.
